The Enemy's Agenda: Part 2

Updated: May 10, 2019

“Then God blessed them, and God said to them—be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”

The first time we spoke on the enemy’s agenda, we tackled it from the first part of the commandment found in Genesis 1:28 —be fruitful and multiply. We talked about how the enemy must be after the lives of children, as he has sort to kill kids since the time of Moses, to Jesus’s birth, and in modern times; through abortion, the killing of twins in the past (in west Africa), the random shooters that attack schools(United States), the girls that were kidnapped from their school (Nigeria) and so on. We were of the opinion, that God must have a great plan for children, as all these attacks have been against them since the beginning of time.

Today we are going to talk about the second part of that commandment, where God says for us to have dominion over basically everything. We all know, that has not been the case. Our emotions subdue us, our sinful nature, subdues us, sickness subdues us, other humans subdue us, poverty, lack, pride and so on, all have power over us, if we don’t know the authority we have in Christ Jesus.

Take for example, a policeman who doesn’t know the power he has, especially in Nigeria, people will ride over him. They wouldn’t take him seriously, and they will keep getting away with the crimes they commit, simply because this law enforcer doesn’t know the authority he possesses, which is backed by the law.

Same thing when a Christian doesn’t know their identity in Christ Jesus. Someone might become born again, but is oblivious to the power and authority, they now possess, which is backed by God, the creator of the entire universe. As a believer, you wouldn’t know your authority, if you don’t study the word of God and fellowship with other believers. Maybe when that policeman got his job, he didn’t study the bylaws of the police department, therefore he didn’t know he was the hands and feet of the law or government. So he let anything slide.

That is how some believers are, they don’t know the authority they have, so they accept whatever the enemy throws their way. It could be something as simple as a bad thought that was planted in your head, if you don’t know what 2 Corinthians 10:4 says about casting down vain imaginations; thoughts that want to exalt themselves higher than Christ in your life, you will let that thought fester, until it becomes reality in your life. Also take fear for instance; fear is also an enemy. But if you don’t know the word of God, you wouldn’t know you have authority over fear. 2 Timothy 1:7 says: “God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind.”

The thing is God gave us all the authority that there is on earth, and in heaven, through Jesus. Yes! Also in heaven, because most of you might be thinking—heaven? Does this passage of scripture ring a bell—whatever you bind on earth, shall be bound in heaven, and whatever is loosed on earth, shall be loosed in heaven?

Guys, this just got me all excited! Do you know how much power God has given us as believers? We are not to fear the enemy, or trials and tribulations. The devil knows the power that a Christian possesses, that is why he tries so hard to keep us from reading our bibles, and spending time with other Christians. He busies us with the affairs of this life; work, comments on social media, money, malice, unforgiveness, bad relationships and whatever

other distractions there are out there. Because he knows he cannot stand against a believer who knows who they are in Christ. That is his agenda.

When you know your identity, you find your purpose. When you find your purpose and begin to walk in it, you become unstoppable. Gosh! God has such vast plans for His children.

1 Corinthians 9-10 says—“eyes have not seen, ears have not heard, neither has it been entered into the heart of man, the things God has prepared for those who love him. But he has revealed it to them, by His spirit.” If you are not connected to God, his word, and other believers, yes he will have those plans, but they will not be revealed to you fully yet.

You have to use your authority to take back territories for God. Music, the arts, movies, medicine, law, all these things and many more were God’s ideas, but the enemy infiltrated them, and has a huge stake in those industries. It is time for you to stay woke, not just to culture, but to the things of God. God wants to put his children in strategic places, where his light will shine bright, and he can’t use you, if you are letting the enemy occupy you with things that you should have dealt with in the spirit a long time ago.

Wake up and smell the roses, God is waiting on you, don’t allow the enemy’s agenda to win in your life, this time around.
