Why we are all in need of a savior
There was this story that was popular a couple of years ago. A set of twin boys born in the 60s went in for circumcision a few months after their birth, and one of the babies penis was annihilated. The doctors at the time convinced the parents to change the sex of the baby boy to a girl. The parents agreed. So they reconstructed that area.
All the while as the boy grew up, he was told he was a girl. But as the parents revealed in an interview, he didn’t like to play with dolls; he always gravitated towards cars (not that playing with dolls makes you a female). He loved playing rough and playing outside with boys; he also wanted to pee outside and not in the girl's bathroom. He also peed standing up.

As he got into his teenage years, his masculine features became apparent. He was ridiculed in school and was called names like she-man. He hated going for his hormone therapy. At some point, he got breast implants. All this while, he knew something was off, but he couldn’t place it. He was rebelling, and told his parents one day, that if they made him go back to the hospital, he would commit suicide.
Then the therapist the boy saw, advised the mom to come clean; she revealed to him that he was a boy. So all the surgeries and physical alterations did not take his identity away; he was in an identity crisis. He eventually got his breast implants out and made adjustments to start living as a man. But as you can imagine, years of living as another gender, and being told you were that particular gender by your parents, took a toll on his mental health. He eventually committed suicide. This story just goes to show that there are characteristics, ingrained in us, that are not necessarily learned behavior, but are unique to each gender.
In today’s world, a lot of people are struggling with their identity, because they don’t know who they are in Christ. Men are seeking to identify as women, and women are seeking to identify as men. Grown-up men are now identifying as five year-old-girls, and some other demographic, wants decades chopped off their age because they feel young and vibrant. We are living in times when everyone wants their delusion to be accepted. People walk around with a lack of confidence in who they were created to be, simply because they don’t know who their creator is.
The Bible says; in the beginning, he created them male and female. God also gave a command in the book of Genesis, speaking to Adam and Eve. He said; be fruitful and multiply and have dominion over the entire earth. But we have given our authority away, and things now have dominion over us. Our thoughts dominate us; our feelings dominate us; our desires dominate us; our actions dominate us.
Just because we feel a certain way, doesn’t mean it is the right way. People are now accepting of the lifestyle change of Transgenders. If people feel trapped in a certain body, then it must be the wrong body. But what do you then say to an adult male, who claims he is a five-year-old girl, and that is why he is attracted to young boys? Will you take him along on a playdate with your little sons? Or allow him to come over and play with your little girls? After all, he is a girl, right?
What then would you say to humans, who feel like they are animals? If you see them grazing in your field, or barking or roaring at you, wouldn’t you call the police? Or scream—the blood of Jesus! If you are African like me. There is no stopping this. Once you allow or normalize a certain group, another group emerges. These are all the tactics of the enemy. He wants to strip you of your identity, from the One who created you. He knows the plans God has for you; He knows you are the next world changer. He knows the full life you could be living, that is why he comes in at a young age, to plant thoughts in your heart.
Then you date that dysfunction, back to when you were ages 3 or 4, saying—I have always felt this way, I knew when I was about three years old. Then you go through life, battling these thoughts and desires, then eventually take the step, and make physical changes just because you do not know your identity in Christ.
Identity crisis doesn’t happen to only those who have issues with how they look physically. It happens to the best of us, even Christians. We forget the authority we have in Christ; we forget who we belong to; we forget who our God is. When we don’t know who we are, we don’t value ourselves. So we take whatever comes our way, we stay in abusive situations because we don’t believe there is better out there for us. We take whatever job opportunity that comes our way because we don’t know our purpose, and the job pays.
Why We Need A Savior
But when we connect to God, our Father, He gives us a new identity.
2 Corinthians 5:17 says that if any man, be in Christ, he is a new creature. Behold, old things have passed away, and all things have become new. Then we begin to operate from a place of authority, then we know what our purpose is, then we value ourselves, and we don’t allow people to treat us less than we are worth. We then put the enemy in his place. When he tries to come against us in our thought process, we rebuke him in the name of Jesus, and remind him who we are in Christ Jesus.
For example, when the enemy wants to remind me of past sins, I rebuke those thoughts using this passage of scripture: I am the righteousness of God, in Christ Jesus (2 Corinthian 5:21). When you rebuke the enemy, he flees. He can’t stand a Christian who knows that they have authority and exercises that authority. If we don’t rebuke those evil thoughts, those vain imaginations, as the Bible calls them, they stay in our thought process, take roots, begin to produce desires, and those desires, eventually lead to actions, and mistaken identity (identity crisis).
So we have to keep fighting, we have to pray for those, who have lost their battles because God can restore them. I have seen stories of people who changed their gender and then went back to how they were created. Of course, such stories wouldn’t make headlines, because people like to stifle the truth and speak their truth instead.
